    Building on the field proven Teledyne DALSA’s Xtium family of frame grabbers, the Xtium™ 2 CLHS PX8 features CameraLink HS standard on the PCI Express™ Gen 3.0 platform. The Xtium2-CLHS supports Active Optical Cable (AOC) and industry standard CX4 cables. This single cable, single slot solution supports up to 7-CLHS lanes, each operating at 10.3 Gbits/s, to acquire images at up to 8.4 GBytes/s and transfer them using PCIe x8 slots to the host memory.

    The Matrox Radient eV-CXP is a cost-effective CoaXPress (CXP) frame grabber with specific models supporting up to two (Dual) or four (Quad) simultaneous connections. By combining a field proven design with the new CXP interface, the Matrox Radient eV-CXP is a dependable high-performance image capture solution for today and into the foreseeable future. CoaXPress is a new camera interface standard that takes advantage of common coax cabling to transmit images at rates and distances above and beyond previous standards. With CXP, image data can be transmitted at up to 6.25 Gbps using a single coaxial cable and up to 25 Gbps using four cables to a maximum of 40 meters3. CXP’s high-bandwidth makes it the right match for a new generation of cameras with larger and faster image sensors.

The Xtium series offers high performance frame grabbers for CameraLink, CameraLink HS and CoaXPress interface standards. The Xtium Series takes full advantage of PCIe Gen 2.0 platform to deliver bandwidth up to 3.4 GB/s using PCIe x8 slots. By enabling maximum sustained throughput and ready-to-use image data, the Xtium series minimizes CPU usage and improves processing times for the host applications. In addition, the Xtium series offers enhanced memory architecture to handle area and line scan, monochrome and color cameras. In addition, the Xtium-CXP series support image acquisition rate of up to 6.25 Gb/s from four input channels.

    The Xtium2™-CXP PX8 series is based on the industry standard PCI Express™ Gen 3.0 and CoaXPress ver 2.0 to transfers image data to the host memory at maximum acquisition rates. The Xtium2-CXP series takes full advantage of PCIe Gen 3.0 platform using PCIe x8 slots to deliver bandwidth up to 6.4GB/sec into the host memory while supporting image acquisition from up to 4 CXP12 input channels (12.5Gbps per channel). The Xtium2 CXP series is available in three configurations:

    The Xtium2-CLHS FX8 LC supports up to two bidirectional SPF+ modules running at 10Gbit/s. Using CLHS X-Protocol, the Xtium2-CLHS FX8 delivers up to 2.0 GB/s of image acquisition and 6.8 GB/s to host memory. The low-cost SPF+ module and fiber optic cables help extend cable lengths to 100 meters.

O/S environments supported include Windows 2000, WIN XP, Solaris, and Linux. Alacron's CODE DEVELOPMENT TOOLS provides all the facilities needed to develop and debug code for simple framegrabbers to multiprocessor applications.

Simultaneously, control commands and triggers can be sent to the camera 20 Mb/S (with a trigger accuracy of +/- 2 nanoseconds). Up to 13 W of power can also supplied to the camera.
